We are a
family owned and managed (fourth generation) funeral business.
The aim of this
website is to introduce ourselves and to offer help and assistance in
anything associated with a funeral. You may contact

We are a fourth generation
family Funeral Directors business with three generations of the Howarth
family still working together in the business. Howarth Funeral Service are
members of The National Association of Funeral Directors, The Society of
Allied and Independent Funeral Directors, The British Institute of Funeral
Directors and the British Institute of Embalmers. Howarths
strictly adhere to the Code of Practice of our affiliated trade
associations. Most of our clients contact us
after the recommendation of our past clients. Our business is
increasing year after year; a testimony of our commitment to our clients. Howarth Funeral Service
Wakefield is owned by Ian Howarth J.P. Dip.FD., MBIE, BIFD,
NAFD.
Now the leading Wakefield
Funeral Service, Howarth's were originally known as C & R Howarth Joiners
and Undertakers. Ian's eldest son, Neil Howarth,
works alongside his father as a Funeral Director in the general arranging
and conducting of funerals. Ian's Father Raymond still works part time as an
Undertaker. Maria Bettison
M.B.I.E. has worked for Howarth's, since leaving school, Maria is a
qualified embalmer and plays a key role in the running of the office and in
the care of the deceased. Marilyn (Ian's Wife) has worked
in the business for a number of years. Marilyn plays a key role in the
running of the office and reception duties. Marilyn is a qualified
hair stylist, Marilyn's hairdressing services are a great attribute towards
the care of the deceased.
